Where there is no Genuine Orthodox priest
When no Genuine Orthodox priest is nearby, the home becomes a place of faithful prayer. Set apart a quiet prayer corner with icons of Christ, the Theotokos, and the saints. Keep an oil lamp or candle safely, and gather there for morning and evening prayer.
A rule of life
Read the Holy Scriptures and the lives of the saints. Observe the fasts according to your strength and with pastoral guidance when it is available. Keep the appointed prayers and cultivate repentance, mercy, and peace in the household.
Guard the home
What enters through the eyes and ears shapes the heart. Guard the household against influences that corrupt the soul and fill it instead with prayer, psalmody, sacred reading, and works of charity.
Remain connected
Contact the Church for guidance, catechesis, and the location of the nearest parish or mission. Home prayer sustains the faithful but does not replace the sacramental life of the Church.
