The Holy Fire
The Holy Fire is associated with the annual observance at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Pilgrims gather in prayer as the light is received and passed from candle to candle, recalling Christ’s Resurrection and the light that shines in the darkness.
The Church receives this testimony within the wider proclamation of Pascha: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and upon those in the tombs bestowing life.
